Here in the United States, we’ve long dealt with road congestion by simply building bigger roads, among other tactics. Two lanes become four, six, eight, and more. In Merry Ol’, however, they didn’t necessarily have the space to expand the way we do, and this 1964 episode of Look at Life that we came across on YouTube examines the various solutions proposed for abating the congestion that afflicted England’s cities and towns at the time. Interesting to note that 50 years on some of the same proposals have come back around again.
