Based on the filename for this photo, as posted on the H.A.M.B.’s Vintage shots from days gone by thread by swi66, it was taken somewhere on U.S. Route 59 in 1962. Route 59 passes through seven states over its border-to-border length, but the only major city – that is, one large enough to support seven-wide traffic – appears to be Houston, which squares with the white-on-black license plates visible in the photo. Carspotters, what do you see?
