We hear it all the time how old car enthusiasts could tell what make and model a car was just from its headlamps and taillamps. Well, here’s your chance to prove that ability, with a handful of nighttime street scenes courtesy the USC Digital Library’s online archives. According to the caption, the photos show a traffic tie-up on the evening of January 18, 1952, on the Arroyo Seco freeway (the 110) from the College Street overpass. From looking at that section of freeway on Google Street View, we can see that the traffic jam took place in the northbound lanes. What do you see here?
